About Knowledge Cotton

"We all share a common responsibility for the future"
Mads Mørup, founder & CEO

In 1969 Jørgen Mørup founded a fabric mill in a small former fire station in central Jutland, Denmark. The company was focused on producing only a limited selection of unique, high quality, cotton sportswear textiles. The company is now a leader in the development and manufacturing of 100% organic cotton knitted fabrics of unsurpassed quality and is one of the largest organic cotton producers in Northern Europe.

Continuing the family legacy and principles established by his father, Mads Mørup founded KnowledgeCotton Apparel in 2008, with a vision for sustainable quality and design to pass on to future generations. KnowledgeCotton Apparel only uses 100% Certified Organic Cotton, responsible organic wool and GRS certified recycled materials. Initially focussed on menswear, the brand has expanded into womenswear and kids clothing all based on the same principle of sustainabilty.

Knowledge Cotton is a business that believes they can make a difference, determined to challenge the conventions in the textile industry, to be on the lookout for new responsible innovations, and to stay true to their vision.

The brand’s Owl symbol represents wisdom, honesty, curiosity and integrity, and symbolises quality.
