Memobottle
The flat water bottle designed to fit in your bag. The paper-inspired design allows it to sit flat against laptops, books and anything else you carry.
memobottle™ is a creative initiative based out of Melbourne, Australia. Founders Jesse Leeworthy and Jonathan Byrd grew up in a small coastal town south of Melbourne, and saw first hand the devastating effect of single use plastic water bottles on the ocean and environment.
Memobottle’s aim is to change public perceptions of single-use water bottle consumption, and encourage a more reusable lifestyle by providing stylish and convenient solutions.
Why plastic?
Memobottles are made from a high quality plastic material that is BPA + BPS free (none of the nasty chemical leaching). The bottle needed to be both durable (it goes next to high value items) and light (so that it is convenient to carry in bags). This rules out glass.
When considering the amount of embodied energy used from raw material to product, reusable plastic bottles are actually 80% more environmentally friendly than stainless steel, glass and aluminium alternatives.
Plastic is environmentally sustainable, so long as it is reused!
The issue is that there are so many plastic products being used once and then immediately disposed of. We need to inspire a more reusable society.
Doing good
Memobottle is a B Corp, and every bottle sold provides someone with five months’ access to safe water, via Water.org.
