Maalo
Maalo was established by Mexican designer Montserrat A. Alonso in 2020. She developed a love for design from an early age, and after gaining a fashion and textile design degree she worked in the industry and saw firsthand the ugly side of the fashion industry.
Montserrat founded Maalo Jewellery to help set a new standard by inspiring people with quality, handmade jewellery that’s made to last. Her designs balance a contemporary aesthetic inspired by the natural world, women and her culture.
All Maalo’s pieces are designed in East London and handmade in small batches either by the founder or by a small team of artisans in her hometown in Mexico.
Maalo support organisations that contribute to the development of women in different regions in Mexico by donating 10% of their annual revenue to NGO’s.
