Love & Care

Wool garments need less laundering, reducing energy and water consumption as well as maintaining the garment’s ‘as-new’ appearance. A wool sweater can be worn 14 times before washing.

If you do need to wash, we advise handwashing in a cool water with a wool detergent.
* Wash your garment inside out.
* Fill a sink with lukewarm water, add a wool detergent. Swirl it around to mix it into the water.
* Soak for 10 mins, gentle agitation if required is ok. No rubbing!
* Rinse with lukewarm water
* Finally rinse cold
* Do not wring the garment. Gently squeeze the moisture and transfer to a clean bath towel laid flat on a table.

About Black & Beech

Making Fashion Feminist

Created by Stacey Grant-Canham, Black & Beech is a brand with a mission: to fuse a passion for feminism and activism with a commitment to provocative, ethical and sustainable fashion.

The brand is deeply committed to intersectional feminist causes, promoting activism in areas like abortion rights and support for domestic violence supporters.

Black & Beech work with suppliers who maintain the highest ethical and sustainable credentials. Many of them are also independent, family-run businesses, and they are paid fair wages to deliver well-made garments using the highest quality products and materials.

The wool used is renewable, biodegradable and helps to keep the much-valued UK wool industry alive. It is mulesing/cruelty free, and the spinner adheres to the RSPCA 5 Freedoms. T-shirts and sweaters are produced in a Carbon Neutral factory, and 95% of the cotton is organic (the rest is BCI cotton).
